Unit 20: Single camera production evaluation My short film, Released is based on a girl called Sofia who has had financial issues in the past but is now trying to get her life back on track. Sofia meets a stranger in the street (my next character, Derek) who seems to be upset and stressed, her character is a kind compassionate one and therefore, she cannot leave him in the state that he is in, so she invites him to a nearby park to talk. There is a plot twist in the story when we hear a phone call from a distorted voice to Derek's phone, adding mystery to the film, the voice tells him that he has to do what he is being paid for by tonight. We also see after the two talk that Derek has a picture of Sofia on his phone, this suggests that he has had an ulterior motive the entire time. In the end of the film Derek arrives at Sofia's door after stalking her at 4am, they have a brief conversation in which he apologises for having to do this to her before he steps inside the
